Engagement Photos at Bethesda Fountain in Central Park, New York City
Whimsical, artful, and sweet are the words that come to mind when describing Marina and Ashton’s session in Central Park, the home to many date night strolls and memories of their life together in this big city. We met up by Bethesda fountain as the sun was rising to capture the beautiful soft lite peeking through the clouds, and from there we explored the trails of Central Park…the adventure led to lots of laughter, twirls, and sweet moments that were so special to capture!
Tips for shooting engagement photos at Bethesda Fountain & Terrace
Central Park’s Bethesda fountain and terrace create an absolutely beautiful backdrop for fine art engagement photos. Not only is it stunning to shoot by the fountain and terrace themselves, there are also many beautiful walking paths, the lake, and the Row Bridge in the immediate vicinity to capture a unique set of photos. After this engagement session, the couple and I walked a short distance to Ralphs Cafe for breakfast together and some final photos!
This is an extremely popular tourist destination - I recommend arriving at sunrise and plan on shooting on a weekday in order to avoid tourists.
Address:
Mid-park at 72nd St. Manhattan, NY, 10021
Parking
Bethesda Parking & Terrace is about a 0.5 mile walk in from the road. There are signs directing you and it’s not difficult to find. I chose to have an Uber drop me off at the trailhead, however you can also find parking in various parking garages nearby.
The way the morning light filters through the trees and wraps it way around the historic architecture of the pathways surrounding Bethesda Terrace is exceptionally fun to capture!
The Row Bridge in Central Park is less than a minute walk from Bethesda Terrace and is beautiful to capture.
